Katie Steier
Assistant Director of Bands
Katie Steier is native of Shawnee Oklahoma. Steier is a proud graduate of Dale Public Schools. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University to obtain a Bachelors degree in Instrumental Music Education and later she went on to get her Masters in Educational Leadership from East Central University. Mrs. Steier is in her 10th year of teaching. Steier’s first 5 years started at Elgin Public Schools where she served as Assistant Director of Bands. During her time in Elgin, Mrs. Steier was awarded the 2017 Women in Music Scholarship through Music For All and she was the 2018-2019 OkMEA Young Music Educator of the Year.
She is currently the Associate Director of Bands at Tuttle Public Schools. All of her middle school bands for 9 years have been the recipient of the OSSAA Outstanding Achievement Award. She is an active member of OkMEA and has served as the Chair for the OkMEA All-State Band committee. Mrs. Steier serves various other state organizations and is currently the Executive Secretary for Shortgrass Honor Band. Mrs. Steier has served as a clinician for middle school honor bands in several different districts in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Steier is a big Harry Potter fan and enjoys trying different local coffee shops. She is happily married to Taylor Steier. They both are proud owners of their dog Molly and their cat Penny.
